MARBELLA PEDAL DAY

SUNDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER – MARBELLA PEDAL DAY

A FREE EVENT!
As part of the 2015 European Mobility Week Marbella is celebrating its 2nd Pedal Day with the aim of promoting the use of bikes for pleasure, sport, tourism and sustainable mobility.

The bike party is being organized by CD Cicloturista La Vereita, the Marbella ByCivic Association and theMarbella Town Hall together with the municipal departments of Sustainability and Mobility, Sport, Tourism and Citizen Participation.

MEETING POINT, DAY AND TIME
FREE registration begins at 09.00 through to 10.45 at the tables on the upper terrace of the Plaza del Mar Commercial Centre in C/ Jose Cela on Sunday 20th September.
The first participants to register will receive a free Dia del Pedal de Marbella 2015 commemorative T shirt. More shirts will be given out by the Sports Delegation to the rest of the participants together with a numbered sticker to participate in the presents and prizes lottery.

The Marbella Pedal Day Start will be at 11.00 and the course will last approximately an hour depending on the number of cyclists attending.

THE COURSE
Starting from Plaza del Mar, cyclists will continue along C/ Arturo Rubinstein, passing through the centre of Marbella along Av. Ricardo Soriano, Av. Severo Ochóa, Av. Marqués de Ahumada, Av María de Salamanca (known as the Mármol) y C/ Camilo José Cela until we reach our original starting place at the Plaza de Mar.

Children under 16 are required by law to wear helmets to comply with the new traffic requirements of the DGT.
At the end of the ride there will be a draw for prizes and trophy awards. Bike stands will be available. You are advised to bring bike locks.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

All participants who wish to take part in MARBELLA PEDAL DAY are reminded that this event is an urban ride to encourage the use of the bicycle as part of the European Sustainable Mobility. It is not a competition. Participants are requested at all times to follow the safety indications of the organisers and behaviour norms will be read before the start.
